The Quality Elderly Service Scheme (QESS) is the first campaign which recognizes
excellent service providers in elderly related services in Hong Kong. The objectives
of the QESS are as follows:
•Offering recognition for those quality operators in the elderly service sector,
and providing them with a set of quality standards for independent appraisal in
order to achieve higher standards of service;
•Assisting consumers to identify quality elderly service operators;
•Enhancing the quality of elderly service sector so as to benefit the elderly by
improving their quality of life; and
•Promoting the care of the rights and benefits of the elderly.
Applicants must fulfill a prescribed assessment checklist in order to be qualified
as Quality Elderly Service Operators. After being qualified, the elderly service
operators can display the decal of QESS to notify consumers their service quality
has received objective approval.
